Cover Art/Booklet: A really beaten megaphone speaker sort of morphing out of CGI/drawn background. Could be some connection to the type of music; standard rock enhanced by computers. Inside has lyrics, but they chose to make them illegible. The background follows the same there as the cover.
Details:
A while back KMFDM posted on their page that they split up. This was a bit before they released ADIOS. They also
pointed you over to MDFMK.com which was Sasha's (lead vocals) and Tim Skold's (I dunno what he did before, vocals
I think, I don't do any research for these reviews) new start up group. And I was like 'wasn't MDFMK
a remix CD?' Well it was but this should just add to the confusion. Anyway that's not important, just the fact
that they were still making music is the key. I wasn't sure how different it would be, but they said that they
were keeping the same style but experimenting more. The members missing from MFDMK were En Esch (drums) and
Gunter Schulz (guitar).
I got a few tracks a month before it came out, and they were awesome, so I counted the days until it hit the stores. They filed it under KMFDM in the store, so if you're looking for it, check there first. Then at the counter, the guy (who is the other KMFDM fan in the state) was like 'tell me how it is' and I was like I heard it, it's good. And it is. If you like the other songs by KMFDM, then you will probably like this as well. The musical style is similar to Adios, but the songs are more defined from one another; one downfall that I found with Adios was that I could never figure out what song I was listening to.
Anyway this CD is very cool, and if you are a crazed KMFDM fan, you will like it. Hopefully those crazy germans will keep popping out CD's to fill our short American attention span.
Bottom Line: Well worth the $16-17 you might spend. Bitter people who complain and don't like cats might not like it, but anyone who likes rock and indutrial should give it a shot.
