Napster Lives (Post#41)
Update by dann on July 28, 2000
Napster has survived the shutdown. Basically they got 60,000 people all whom would boycott buying CD's unless napster stayed open. So now that they can remain open for the time being, they want you to go out and support the bands that support napster. These bands can be found on their page.
The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (Post#40)
Update by dann on July 27, 2000
A couple things happened today. Neither good. First off, everyone's favorite instant messenger, ICQ started using banner ads. The worst part though, is that AOL inserted a hidden autoupdate that doens't even show up so the patch gets installed without your permission. I understand why AOL did this, I mean would you willingly upgrade just so you could have banners. But still, it's annoying. There is a workaround though. If you have v98x or 99x then keep them. But if you grabbed v2000 like me, and haven't opened it since Monday, then follow these steps first:

1) go to the start menu->run
2) type regedit in the blank and hit OK
3) Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Miribilis\ICQ
4) Click on DefaultPrefs and doubleclick on Auto Update on the right. Change the value to No
5) Then go to Owners\[youricqnumber]\Prefs and change the Auto Update there to No.

Now AutoUpdate won't run.
But if you had the updater run and don't want ads, do this:

1) Go to your Windows folder and find the file hosts. If it doesn't exist, make a text file and rename it to hosts (not hosts.txt)
2) Open the file in notepad and add the following lines:

0.0.0.0 ads.icq.com
0.0.0.0 ads.web.aol.com

If that doesn't work replace the 0.0.0.0 with 127.0.0.1

Now for even sadder news, Napster has lost. Yes it's true, but fear not, there are workarounds, there always are.
Go to scour.net and download scour exchange. This allows any type of music, video or image file to be traded. But if you love Napster a lot (or bought a t-shirt and want your money's worth), go to napigator.com and grab their utility. What this does is find specific servers running the napster software. These are most likely 3rd party and independant servers now. So when napster's offical server goes down Friday the 28th @ 4:00pm you'll still be able to connect though these.

The Orthodontist redone (Post#37)
Update by dann on July 16, 2000
I updated the Orthodontist animation to the newest version. (The old one was missing some scenes, and was dumb). And it's now in ASF format and weighs 1.7Mb instead of being an AVI and 5+Mb.
First ever Post (Post#36)
Update by morgin on July 13, 2000
Well, I figure it's about time to post something onto this page. I am Morgin, back in the day I co-ran a Half-Life league with Dann, we kept in touch after it folded and he gave me access to do stuff on this site. So I guess I may end up doing a few movie reviews, some cd reviews, if I get ambitious I might think of some other things as well. For now, I'll just post my link of the day. Furniture Porn anyone?

Thats all for now.
UPDATE: I have come across the longest known regestered domain name. http://www.verizonshouldspendmoretimefixingitsnetwork
andlessmoneyonlawyers.com/

Someone find something bigger and let me know :)
Make your own game name. (Post#35)
Update by dann on July 13, 2000
Yes, we now know how those japanese games get their creative titles. They use this!. Just look at the results:

Mega Anus Fish Corpse
Ancient Mekka Poppin' Deluxe
Super Outlaw Pokemon Ramen
Super Rubber Jello-o Master

Thanks Morgin, who created the title: Happy Anus Sushi Master. We wish him the best of luck finding a publisher.
Six Aces (Post#34)
Update by dann on July 10, 2000
The Six Aces page is all redone and stuff. I did it all in flash for some reason, but I think it's fairly easy to navigate, so give it a try. Oh yeah, it's a page for our next movie.
